From two kilos up we are talking about a party: two kilos serves roughly ten people, three kilos fifteen to twenty. The rate per kilo stays the same as for the smaller cakes — more weight means more work, so there is no volume discount. If you want tiers, we discuss those separately: they need a sturdier build and more time. Bear in mind, too, that a large cake has to travel flat and takes up a fair amount of fridge space.
